Dr. Kellyn Hodges is widely known and respected as one of the Philadelphia area’s top board-certified orthodontists. In fact, her own peers have recognized her with that distinction in Philadelphia Magazine and Mainline Today. But it’s what this Philadelphia native’s patients and staff say about her that is so humbling:
“Dr. Hodges has orthodontic fingers of silk.”
“When I think of Dr. Hodges, I really think of perfection. I can say without a doubt that she is a perfectionist, and she sees it as an art form because she creates when she’s doing your teeth. She just does excellent work.”
“I selected Dr. Hodges because I was absolutely confident she was going to make me look my absolute best.”
“I just like Dr. Hodges a lot. She’s a very nice lady.”
But Dr. Hodges would be the first to tell you the feeling is mutual. The warm, friendly atmosphere inside her state-of-the-art offices has as much to do with the doctor, staff and patient relationships as it does the beautiful artwork, candles and flowers inside.
Dr. Hodges: “I don’t know how else to say it except love. We really do love our patients, we love each other as co-workers, but we really love and care enough to do our very best in each specific case. I really do think that the patients feel that.”
Dr. Hodges has offices in three very convenient locations in the Philadelphia area. One in Bala Cynwid, inside the GSB Building, there’s also a location in Bensalem and Montgomeryville. But describing her typical patient isn’t exactly an easy thing to do. They come form all walks of life and are all ages.
Dr. Hodges: “We go from teens to young adults to middle age to the elderly. Orthodontia really is for all ages. We typically wouldn’t start before age 7. My oldest patient is 78.”
Patients of all ages have taken notice that Dr. Hodges gets results. Take a look at these before and after pictures, and you’ll easily see the impact she has had on so many lives.
Her degree in orthodontics and years of extra training beyond dental school have given Dr. Hodges a unique edge in her field. She understands that orthodontics is about much more than fixing crooked teeth. It’s also about understanding how orthodontics affects the overall beauty of the face.
“Our treatment is always designed and customized with those things in mind. We can straighten teeth, but what have they done to the face? What effect has it had? There are certain treatments approaches that can sink in a face, or fill out a face.”
Dr. Hodges also offers fake money, or free Ortho Bucks, to students and adults who properly take care of their teeth. It’s an incentive program that has been a big hit with every generation.
Dr. Hodges: “We give out Ortho Bucks that can purchase things in this curio. The patients get them for brushing well, wearing their rubber bands, or straight A’s on the report card, or an award, or an athletic accomplishment.”
It’s not difficult to understand why so many moms, dads, children, teens and even grandparents have called Hodges Orthodontics home since the mid-90s. Throw in flexible financing and a doctor and staff who are as passionate about people as they are about their craft, and patients enjoy an orthodontic experience and result that will last a lifetime.
Dr. Hodges: “I cannot imagine being in any other profession. I absolutely love teeth, I love straight teeth, and I love people. There is nothing else that I would rather do, and I feel that way about my whole team. We are all excited and happy to be doing what we’re doing.”
