Braces Cost and Financing

The cost of braces depends on how far your teeth need to move and how long treatment takes. Rather than guessing from a chart, start with a free consultation at our Bala Cynwyd office. If it is easier, you can even begin with a virtual consultation from home. We will examine your smile, map out your treatment plan, and give you a clear cost picture before anything begins.

We work hard to keep braces affordable. Our office accepts most insurance plans and files claims for you. We also accept CareCredit® financing, which offers low-interest and interest-free payment plans for qualifying patients, and we offer in-house payment plans with low monthly installments.

What to Expect During Braces Treatment

Consultation

Your free consultation in Bala Cynwyd includes digital impressions, photographs, and X-rays. Dr. Hodges uses them to build a treatment plan around your goals. You will leave knowing what treatment involves, how long it should take, and what it will cost.

Placement

Brackets are bonded to your teeth and connected with an archwire. The appointment is straightforward, and most patients adjust to the feel of braces within a few weeks.

Adjustments

You will visit us every four to eight weeks so we can tighten your braces and keep your teeth moving on schedule.

Retention

Once your braces come off, a custom retainer keeps your new smile in place for years to come. We will show you exactly how and when to wear it.

Braces FAQ

  • How long will I wear braces?

Most patients wear braces for 18 to 31 months. Minor crowding resolves faster, while complex bite problems take longer. At your free consultation, we will give you a personal estimate before treatment begins.

  • How often will I need appointments?

Plan on visits to our Bala Cynwyd office every four to eight weeks. These quick appointments let us adjust your braces, check your progress, and answer any questions about caring for your teeth.

  • Do braces hurt?

Placement itself is painless. Your teeth may feel sore for a few days after braces go on and after each adjustment, and most patients manage it easily with soft foods and over-the-counter pain relievers. The soreness fades as your teeth get used to each new wire.

  • Are braces or Invisalign better for me?

Braces can treat everything from mild crowding to complex bite issues. Invisalign works best for mild to moderate cases. Dr. Hodges offers both in Bala Cynwyd and will recommend the option that fits your teeth, your lifestyle, and your budget.
